Wendy Yunker Obituary

Wendy Larissa Yunker

Wendy passed away peacefully on March 27th at home in Middleton after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 1, 1967, in Seattle, Washington, the youngest of five children, born to Kenneth and Molly Linville.

Wendy grew up with four brothers that enjoyed playing pranks on their little sister. She loved to swim and roller skate as a child and dance with her friends. Wendy loved the outdoors and going on hikes. She loved animals and could not tolerate any cruelty towards them.

Wendy attended schools in Snohomish, Washington, graduating in 1985. She moved to Boise in 1992 and began a career with Hewlett Packard and attended classes at Boise State University. While working at Hewlett Packard she met Jane Howell, and in 1996 this friend introduced Wendy to her cousin, Jim Yunker. Jim was an I&E technician for Boise Cascade in Horseshoe Bend and after a few months of courting, they were married in Reno, Nevada. The couple settled in Boise to begin their life together. In 2002 they moved to an acreage in Middleton. Jim and Wendy loved being out in the country with their dogs and cats and any stray that would show up at their home.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Jim, of 25 years; her mother, Molly, and her four brothers, Kevin (Debby), Chris (Maya), Jeff, Joe (Dianna) and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth.

The family would like to thank Renee of St. Luke’s Hospice and a special friend, Laura Nitzel for taking such good care of Wendy during her illness.
