Wayne Monroe Freeman passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024 at the age of 90. Born on September 23, 1934 to his parents, Clarence and Johnnie Lou Freeman. Wayne spent much of his childhood in either Missouri or Idaho. In 1951 in Parma, Idaho, he met the love of his life, Donna Lee Noel. Wayne and Donna were married on August 4th, 1951, in Winnemucca, Nevada and after 12 years, the Freeman family, Wayne, Donna, and their four kids, moved to Monroe, Oregon in 1963. Finally, in 1994, Wayne and Donna moved to Emmett, Idaho, where he remained until his passing.
Wayne served in the Army 1953-1956 spending one year stationed in Germany. He was a hard-working man and provided well for his family. He had his own logging business for many years before settling into being an independent truck driver. Wayne was an avid hunter bagging many elk and deer over the years. Camping, fishing and riding four-wheelers with his wife in the mountains above Clear Creek, Idaho was something Wayne looked forward to every summer.
There was no shortage of love in Wayne’s life as he is survived by five children – son Gary (Carolyn) Freeman of Albany, Oregon; son Roger (Cindy) Freeman of Coquille, Oregon; daughter Joyce McMahon of Lebanon, Oregon; son Jeffery Freeman of Lebanon, Oregon; daughter Hope Darland of Meridian Idaho.
