Wallace Grenier Obituary

Wallace M. Grenier was born March 28, 1928, in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Joseph Grenier and Flora Oliver.

He was the 5th child and baby of the family. In 1946, he joined the Navy and learned his trade as a mechanic. When the war was over, he went home and met his 1st wife, Shirley Stevens, and married in 1949. They had 2 children together, Harold in 1950 and Thelma in 1952.

When that didn’t work out Wally tried being a single guy for a while until he found his soulmate in Joann Rose and her son, Joel Craig. Wally lavished Joann in a good life with pretty much anything she wanted. They took lots of trips both in and out of the USA.

The one thing Wally loved was children. So, when he retired, they moved to Emmett, Idaho. They took in numerous foreign exchange students and foster care children in need of a good home. It was in the foster care system where he found 2 children that he could give all his love to and name as his own.

J.T. Grenier was added to the family in 1999, when he was only 8 years old. Then in 2005 they found Maria Grenier that became the apple of Daddy’s eye.

Wally lived a good and happy life and filled 94 years with lots of friends, family and children who needed a good “Dad” in their lives. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him.

Wally was preceded in death by all of his original family, his 1st Wife; his stepson, Joel Craig; daughter, Thelma Matthews and daughter-in-law, Carol Grenier.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; son, Harold Grenier, J.T. Grenier (Corrine) and granddaughter, Madison; Marie Grenier (Carlos Arellano) and granddaughter Olivia; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandkids and 3 great-great-grandkids.
