Virginia Lair passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2023, in Emmett, Idaho. She was born Virginia Lee Healy on November 24, 1932, in Huston ID, to parents Guy and Iva Healy and joined two brothers Ivan and Ervin. The family later moved to Caldwell, ID.
She met and married Cliff Lair and they lived in Emmett where they raised their family. Virginia said her children were her greatest accomplishment. Mom loved working in her yard. She handpicked each tree and rose bush, nurturing them as they grew to become her own private oasis. Every spring brought new life with the shade of the trees and roses in full bloom, it was beautiful. Christmas brought Mom absolute joy. Her yard and home looked like something out of a magazine with her truly eclectic and stunning style. We all lived through her eyes during that magical season. The grandchildren described Mom with words such as cool and flamboyant. She loved her red sports car and always dressed in style, never looking her age. She had the gift of being eternally young at heart.
Virginia was an Avon representative for 50+ years having recently retired only a year ago, and for decades was recognized as a top producer in the Treasure Valley receiving many awards for her hard work. She still had and treasured many of those friendships with her customers.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Iva Healy; her brothers, Ivan and Ervin; and son, Gary.
She is survived by her children, Ken (Gloria) Lair; Lonnie Lair, Judy (Corey) Eisenbarth; daughter-in-law, Sue Lair; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Her legacy is one of being an extremely independent woman of quiet strength who led by example and did what she loved. These last few months have been a gift of time and laughter and we will forever cherish those memories.
Private Memorial Graveside Services will be held in her honor.
