Virginia Harvill Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Virginia Ruth Harvill on May 15, 2023. Virginia was born in Nampa, Idaho on November 6, 1942 to Broadus Hill and Ruth Rice Hill. Virginia and her three brothers and one sister, were raised in Horseshoe Bend where she lived a large portion of her life. Her childhood was spent camping, fishing and playing with her siblings.
Virginia loved learning and after graduating as salutatorian from Emmett High School, she attended nursing school where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She blessed so many lives during her career including her patients, their families, and her co-workers. She continued in this field until retiring and was able to spend more time with her grandchildren.
In 1964, Virginia welcomed her first child, Jerry Hill. In 1979 Virginia met and married Jose Fernandez. Together, they welcomed two daughters into the world; Anna, who was born in 1980, followed by Christina in 1981. In 1986, Virginia met and married her second husband, DeNorbis Harvill and they made their home in Emmett for many years. Virginia continued to call Emmett her home until her recent passing.
Virginia was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren and spent as much time with them as she was able. Her kindness, laughter, humor, and love will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known her.
Virginia is survived by her children, Jerry Hill, daughters Anna Atwood (Ryan) of Emmett, Christina Chapman-Herz (Jason Herz) of Boise, and her grandchildren, Beth, Bella, Jenna, Logan, Isaac, Kaden and Maliah, her brothers Lonnie Hill, Donald Hill, and her sister and best friend Mary Hill. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Broadus and Ruth Hill, her husbands, Jose Fernandez, and DeNorbis Harvill and her brother Charles Hill.
We encourage you to leave your memories of Virginia by uploading photos to the memorial page so that we can all remember and celebrate her life.  Arrangements are under the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel.
