Troy Johan Simpson passed away on April 13, 2026, in Emmett, Idaho.
Troy was born on February 14, 2008, in Greenville, South Carolina—his mom’s forever Valentine. He was the beloved son of Mark Simpson and Janie Johannesen. Troy was a quiet, reserved soul with a sharp sense of sarcasm that often-caught people by surprise. He wasn’t always one to say a lot, but those who knew him well knew how deeply he cared. He showed his love by simply being there ready to help, to listen, or to spend time in quiet companionship.
Troy loved video games, especially Warframe and Elden Ring, and had a strong interest in electronics. He took aviation classes and enjoyed learning how things worked. He always helped his mom and anyone else who needed it, never hesitating when asked. Troy had a truly huge heart.
He was a wonderful son, brother, cousin, and nephew. Troy spent his school years in Emmett, Idaho, and treasured visits with his dad in Coldwater, Mississippi. His family meant everything to him, whether or not he always said it out loud.
Troy is now reunited in Heaven with his Granny, Kate Johannesen, and his Grandpa, Widding Johannesen.
He leaves behind his mom, Janie; his dad, Mark; his older sister, Linnae; his little brother, Callan; paternal grandparents David and Roma-Jane Simpson; many uncles and aunts, cousins, friends, and his loyal dogs Cleo and Lasko beloved cat, 2-face.
A service to celebrate Troy’s life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, 11:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho.
