Trevor Levi Speer

  Trevor Levi Speer was born on September 11, 1986, and passed away on August 28, 2026, at the home he shared with his mother, stepdad and sister. He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Angelina and Fred Hall of Emmett, Idaho, and his father and stepmom, Kevin and Sue Speer of Star, Idaho. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Tyler and Chandler Speer of Garden City, Idaho; his sister, Mary Speer of Emmett, Idaho; his grandparents Katherine and Jim Baker of Emmett, Idaho; his grandmother, Barbara Putnum of Phoenix, Arizona; and many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, extended family, friends and coworkers. He was proceeded in death by Nana, Elaine Martinez, his Great Grandmother and Bob Speer, his Grandfather.
  Trevor was born at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington while both his parents were stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. Complications during pregnancy caused him to be born 6 weeks prematurely that required a stay in the NICU after his momma was discharged from the hospital. After a rough start to life, he was off and running, which is how he lived the rest of his life. 
  During childhood, he was all about playing with friends, asking questions about how everything worked and dragging his brother Tyler everywhere with him. Since they were 14 months apart, they did everything together, even wearing matching outfits, which they liked to harass their mom about as adults. 
  When Trevor’s parents got out of the Air Force, the family moved to Meridian, Idaho, where Trevor spent a big part of his life. He loved sports and liked to play everything from softball to football, and lacrosse, but he was passionate about wrestling. He started wrestling at Meridian Middle School and continued through his senior year at Meridian High School. He and his brother, Tyler, shared a love for this sport and the family traveled all through high school to wrestling tournaments. 
  When Trevor was 13, a baby sister, was added to the family and Trevor carried her around so much that she didn’t want to crawl or learn to walk. Trevor felt a huge responsibility, and love for his sister and brother. He also loved all the friends he made throughout his life and would tell the funniest stories about them, even up to the day before he died. During high school Trev worked at Papa Murphy’s, Louie’s Restaurant and then off to the Culinary Arts program at Boise State when he graduated high school. He then decided he wanted to follow in his mom and dad’s footsteps and join the US Air Force, and off he went to travel the world for 6 ½ years. Trevor became an Air Traffic Controller, working both radar and tower, military and commercial flights. While stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, he received a vaccine that caused him to develop type 1 diabetes. By the time he returned to the states at Hill Air Base in Utah he was sick and in and out of hospital ICUs for the rest of his life. The Air Force medically retired him, and he was forced out of a career, both militarily and commercially, that he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
  He returned home to his mom in Idaho and went back to Boise State to complete his Bachelor of Science in Biology, Ecology, Evolution and Behavior degree. After graduation, he worked at Boise State, in the Raptor Research Center collecting and recording data for the department. He then went to a video game testing company, Lionbridge, testing the games and products before public release. All of Trevor’s friends and family knew of his love for video games, since his first Nintendo system at age 3 playing Ninja Turtles, to online gaming nights with his buddies in high school and in the military. Finally, he began work at Odin Works, first as a machinist of gun parts, then as the armorer, and his last position, as a salesman. He traveled to Gun Shows around the country and enjoyed the people he worked with, and he was proud to work in an industry that he truly loved.
  Trevor was a kind and gentle man, born with an infectious laugh, curiosity, intelligence, loyalty, and the most wicked, sarcastic sense of humor. He loved to play tricks on people, loved all animals, sent the most absurd texts to his mom, made people laugh with his stories of big foot, aliens and other bizarre things. He read about everything, was always wanting to know more, enjoyed hunting with his dad and was taken from us too soon. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him. His family takes comfort that he is now with God, and he is no longer ravaged by the disease that cost him so many years of life waiting to be lived.
  Trevor will be inurned on his 40th birthday, September 11, 2026, at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.  A Celebration of Life for Trevor will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel following the inurnment, at 12:00 PM.  The family will greet friends and family at a lunch being served at the Potter Funeral Chapel after the service.
