Travis Walker Obituary

Travis Earl Walker, age 44, died at home on January 30, 2023. Travis was born in La Grande, Oregon, August 13, 1978. He lived on a cattle ranch in eastern Oregon until age 6, when the family moved to Bend, Oregon.

Travis attended grade school in Bend, and junior high and high school in Pocatello, Idaho. The family moved to Emmett, Idaho in 1995 and he graduated from Emmett High School in 1996. Travis met Misty Fields during their senior year of high school, and they married in the fall of 1996 after graduation. Pastor Al Cinnamon influenced both Travis and Misty as he led the CERT program at the high school, and Pastor Tim Moen performed the wedding ceremony when Travis and Misty were married at Wildrose Park at Black Canyon Dam, in Emmett, in October of 1996. He worked at Sonbyrd Industries for over 20 years and was employed there at the time of his death.

Travis enjoyed woodworking of all types and completed many projects with his wife and children. He and his dad golfed together as often as they could. He was an avid outdoorsman who hunted, fished and trapped. He and his family spent time together as they rode their minibikes. He was a talented musician and singer, singing and playing music with his mother and father and family. Travis loved his wife and children, his brother, and the rest of his family more than he was able to express to them, and he will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Travis left behind his wife of 26 years, Misty Walker; his children, Nate and Abby Walker; brother, Raymond Walker; parents, Bruce and Pam Walker; sister-in-law, Madonna Fields Colburn; brother-in-law, John Colburn; uncle, Jim Thomas; aunt, Jodi Nichols Thomas; cousins, Monica Thomas and Michael Thomas; aunt, Susan Walker; and other aunts, uncles and second cousins.

The family wishes to thank Kip Buck at Potter Funeral Chapel, coroner John Buck and the Gem County Sheriff's department, and our family and friends who have sent us their love and lent support to us in this trying time.

A graveside service will be held at the   Cremation Niche Wall in the Emmett Cemetery, 1205 N Washington, Emmett on Friday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m. Pastors Al Cinnamon and Tim Moen will conduct the service where Travis' ashes will be laid to rest.
