Forty-five years ago, Donovan Holford hired Sharon as a Home Maker One for Western Idaho Community Action, a program that cared for and assisted the elderly and handy cap seniors in Gem, Boise, and Valley Counties. She was an active member in the Beta Signa Phi sorority and taught preschool for thirty-seven years at Discovery Preschool. She helped organize the Emmett Valley Coalition to feed the poor, where she prepared and served the meals. Sharon also catered the Emmett Retired Teachers Association luncheons for several years.
