Jack Korell was born on November 20, 1947 in Torrington, Wyoming. When Jack was about 5 years old his parents, John and Helen Korell moved to a farm in Emmett, Idaho. Jack attended Letha country school where he excelled in sports. In 1962 he attended the 9th grade at Parkview Jr high school in Emmett. He met Lois in the 9th grade, and they fell in love. After 10th grade they quit school and got married on November 28, 1964.
In 1966 they moved to Minnesota and began grain farming and raising livestock. They had two sons, Anthony and Jeff, whom they raised on the farm in Minnesota. Jack enjoyed fox and coyote hunting and would make an annual elk hunting trip to Colorado. His good friend Mike Levin built a golf course nearby, so Jack took up golfing. He competed in an annual tournament taking first place many times over the years.
In 1988 Jack and Lois moved back to Emmett. Jack started working as a logger with his brother Don and cousin Larry. He continued his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and golfing. The last couple years of his life, due to battling cancer and dementia, he wasn’t able to continue with his outdoor hobbies. But still worked hard chopping firewood for his fireplace and taking care of his yard and garden.
