Roy Jay Yoder, 69, of Emmett, Idaho, formerly of Libby, Montana, passed on peacefully at 3:30 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at his home after a 7-year battle with Lyme and Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born on September 11, 1954, in Millersburg, Ohio to Ervin E. and Betty (Troyer) Yoder.
On October 28, 1976, he married Mary (Miller) Yoder and had 2 children.
He was a member of the Eagle Valley Amish Church in Libby, Montana. Roy was an ordained minister and loved preaching the word. He also loved doing jail ministry for many years. He always had a word of encouragement for everyone.
Roy enjoyed the outdoors but especially loved fishing, hunting and especially loved picking mushrooms with his family and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Betty Yoder; brother, Ray Yoder; and sister, Esther Yoder.
Roy is survived by his wife, Mary Yoder; son, Merle (Becky) Yoder of Jonesville, Michigan; daughter, Celesta (Steven) Mast of Emmett, Idaho; 8 grandchildren, Shelissa (Kilsun) Keagy, Shayna Yoder, Dwayne (Madison) Yoder, Jacob Yoder, Shawna Yoder, Kayla Mast, Bradon Mast and Trevor Mast; 1 great grandchild; and 6 siblings, Naomi (Paul) Yoder of Fredericksburg, OH, Carol (John) Yoder of Townville, PA, Clara (Danny) Slabaugh of Nappanee, IN, Dwayne (Laura) Yoder of Millersburg, OH, Sandra (Mark) Yoder of Trout Creek, MT and Ervin Jr. (Elsie) Yoder of Fredericksburg, OH; sister-in-law, Trish Yoder of Millersburg, OH; and brother-in-law, Robert Yoder of Nappanee, IN.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM then again from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Eagle Valley Amish Church, Libby, MT.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Eagle Valley Amish Church in Libby, MT.
Burial will follow at Eagle Valley Amish Church Cemetery.
