Roy Elmer Lane was born on February 9th 1937 in Clinchport, Virginia to Marlin Lane and Mary Ethel Jones. Roy passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 19th, 2025 in Emmett, Idaho.
He served two years in the Army (1957-59). He was able to serve in Germany. After being discharged from the Army he went to Idaho to find work.
Roy married Janice Womack in Emmett, Idaho. They shared 64 years of marriage and had four daughters. Brenda (Dan) Jansen, Tammi (John) Eiguren, Eileen Gatfield, Amy (Kraig) Kaiser. Daughters added to the family later are Grace, Elicia (deceased)and Karen.
Roy loved to garden and keep a beautiful yard. It gave him much pleasure. He also enjoyed fishing with family and friends. One of his favorite fishing trips was in Alaska with his friend Bruce. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sweet Cemetery.
