Ron Resler Obituary

Ron Resler, 78, of Middleton, Idaho, formerly from Boulder City, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2021.

Ron was a devoted Boulder City resident who lived there practically his entire life. He moved to Middleton, Idaho in February 2005 to be near his grandchildren after his retirement to the shock of all who knew him. He was a graduate of the University of South Dakota where he attained his degree in secondary education. He then continued his education at the University of Arizona where he attained his master’s degree +32 in education. He was a dedicated teacher and coach. His career was full of success. His proudest accomplishment was that he was able to make a difference in many young peoples lives. He LOVED football, and that is an understatement! He also loved track and field, fishing, and being with his family. In February 2000 he was inducted into the Golden Eagle Hall of Fame, in 2011 he was inducted into the Nevada coaching Hall of Fame and the High School he taught at for 32 years named a track meet after him, the Ron Resler Invitational.

He was a loving and kind husband who was madly in love with his high school sweetheart Sharon. They were married 55 years. He was also the best loving dad in the world to his daughter Kim and son Patrick. He gained a second son, Jim, when he and Kim where married. They were father and son instantly connecting through of all things football and fishing. He was very proud of his grandkids Britnee, Cody, and Logan. As he told us one day after Britnee announced that he was wrapped around her finger. He assured us that’s where he belonged.

Ron is survived by his wife Sharon (Raynor) Resler, daughter Kim (Resler) and Jim Elmore, son Patrick Resler, granddaughter Britnee (Elmore) and Sean Hart, grandson Cody Elmore and Brooke Ross, grandson Logan Elmore, his 2 dogs Joe and Rudi, many other great-grand pets who he loved dearly, Sister Susan Traasdahl, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a small service at the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett, Idaho January 7, 2022 at 1:30pm. Viewing will begin at 1:00pm. He never wanted a formal service. He always demanded there be a party so PLEASE mark your calendars for July 9, 2022 in  Boulder City, Nevada for a Celebration of his Life. While he did love flowers, he would be much more honored if you made a donation to a local youth sport organization to help troubled or financially compromised families.

ENOUGH OF THIS! CAN WE JUST GET TO THE FOOTBALL? - John Madden
