Robert "Bob" Hosier Obituary

On October 26, 2024, Robert (Bob) Roy Hosier passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife, Wanda Hosier and tender arms of his brother-in-law, Tom Bryson after a difficult final week of suffering from Louie Body Dementia and Parkinsonism. During his last days he was also surrounded by his closest family members; his loving daughter Melissa with her husband Eddie Vidrio, Mickee Bryson who provided much needed comfort, Chris Bryson who spent many hours of her time helping in any way she could.
Bob was born on February 13, 1946, in Miles City, Montana followed shortly by his twin brother, Robb.
Bob’s favorite activity was competing in horseshoe pitching tournaments during which He won many trophies and honors. He loved spending time with family and friends teaching them the art of throwing shoes. Bob was quite athletic and enjoyed playing basketball on the Emmett City Basketball league for the Boise Cascade team in his early years. Later he played “Horse” with his sons and grandsons.
Another passion was playing Pinochle with his family and the dice game of 10,000 with his grandchildren.
He was an avid hunter and loved hunting with his special friend and buddy, Larry Gorino. Hours were spent hiking and searching for the elusive “big one”.
Bob was very creative, he made beautiful hunting knives. Along with Emmett DeMasters, they created a unique game cart and elk bugle.
Bob also loved camping with his family and friends. He would arrive early at camping sites and meticulously prepare the camping spot so that the experience was especially enjoyable for everyone. He raked away Pine cones and needles and was known for his repairing of the fire pits.
Bob and Wanda enjoyed traveling to Canada, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, South Dakota’s Badlands and Mt Rushmore, and Alaska on several occasions.
Bob worked at Boise Cascade Plywood plant for 30 plus years. When the plant closed, he finished his working career at Ore-Ida, in Ontario, Oregon.
The last few months of his life, Bob dealt with his significant health problems. He was in hospice care at his home in Nampa under the care of his loving wife Wanda and the Blue Bird Health Agency. The family would like to thank his hospice team: doctors Hicks, Williams, and Crisswell; nurses, Edna, Ebby, Susan, and Tiffany; CAN’s Kris, Savannah, and Shay.
A Celebration of life will be held for Bob at a later date.
