Robert Daniels Kaskel, age 82, died Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Meridian, Idaho. Born July 29, 1941 in Pasadena, California to August (Gus) Fritz Kaskel and Lorna Ruth Daniels. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1959. Bob played football for a community college in California while taking automotive and mechanical classes. In 1960 he enlisted in the Marines and served for 5 years. He married his best friend Jeannette Elizabeth Scott on May 7, 1966 in Las Vegas Nevada.
He loved his community and served in many capacities. He was involved in the creation of the Horseshoe Bend Fire Department along with serving as a volunteer Deputy Sheriff for many years. He worked at Hoff Lumber until he moved his family to Emmett after being promoted to work at Boise Cascade as the Maintenance Superintendent. He belonged to the optimist club, served on the school board, sat on the board of Emmett Chamber of Commerce, served as an Emmett County Fire Commissioner and helped to provide the town with a fireworks show every 4th of July for several years.
Bob and Netty loved to travel, camp, snowmobile, ride 4 wheelers and razor rides with friends and family. They went on several cruises and went on an Adventure Caravan with their motorhome. On every adventure they went, there was never a stranger that he ever met. He is a man of a thousand faces and has the best sense of humor. Bob left everyone a better person for knowing him.
His family and friends meant the world to him. Bob is survived in by his spouse Jeannette (Netty) Kaskel, his son Scott (Carol) Kaskel along with his two grandchildren: Trevor (Allison) Kaskel and Megan (Robert) Moschetti along with 6 great grandchildren: Aubree, Ethan and Kylee Kaskel and Bobby, Alydia and Nathen Moschetti. He also is survived by his three nieces: Lynda (Mike) Birdsong, Janine Lewis, and Sherri (Dean) Koutsoutis. He is preceded in death by his parents Lorna Ruth Daniels and August Fritz Kaskel along with his sister June Kaskel.
There will be a Celebration of Life on February 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel.
