Dick Stewart, loving companion of Linda Baker, passed away at his home in Garden Valley, Idaho, on May 11, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on February 24, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard “Ken” and Mary Stewart.
The family moved to Boise and at a very young age Dick began working in construction with his father and later purchased RK Stewart & Son. He learned how to work hard all his life and overcame dyslexia to have a very successful business. He had fond memories renovating the Capital building in Boise following a fire and traveling around the northwest building gas stations.
In recent years Dick did insurance reconstruction all the way from Clarkston, Washington, to McCall, Cascade, Garden Valley and Boise. He loved hunting anything, boating, fishing and dogs, especially Daisy. Dick loved watching the wild life in Garden Valley and is remembered for his mother’s bright blue eyes and his wonderful sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Dax Stewart.
Dick is survived by his sisters; DeeDee Stuart and Debbie Stredder; son, Luke (Christina) Stewart of Power, Montana; his grandchildren, McKenzie Stewart, Cannon Stewart, Paisley Stewart, Elliot Stewart of Emmett, Austin (Katie) Frazier of Parma, and Melani (Dusty) Nebeker of Emmett; nephew Jeff (Janice) Murray of Driggs, Idaho.
