Richard “Dick” Gene Beyers, age 67, passed away on December 14, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1958.

In April of 1987, Richard suffered a logging accident that forever changed the course of his life. After breaking his back, he spent the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. Rather than slowing him down, this challenge strengthened his resolve and became a powerful example to those around him. Richard showed that being told you can’t do something does not mean you have to accept it. Through determination, hard work, and unwavering belief in himself, he proved that obstacles can be overcome.
Richard gave generously of his time and energy in service to others. He served his community as a dedicated school board member and city council member, always working to improve the lives of those around him. His passion for youth and education was evident through his volunteer work with the Optimus program, where he coached football. He also served as a hunter education instructor, sharing not only knowledge, but values rooted in responsibility and respect.
Richard will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to service, his deep love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on his community. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
