Reba Joyce Poplin

  Reba Joyce Poplin passed away on February 8, 2023, at 11:55 pm at her home in Emmett, Idaho. Reba was born on February 23, 1934, to Arthur and Edna Goins in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Reba was predeceased by her Husband James; her daughter Vickie; her sisters Carol and Shirley, and her brothers Donald and Darrell. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Terry and Larry, her daughter Susan, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

  Reba was the oldest of Arthur and Edna’s seven children. Reba grew up in Fort Smith and eventually met her to be husband, James Poplin, at a local skating ring. Reba and James married in 1953 and Reba later gave birth to three children Larry, Vickie, and Terry at their home in Arkansas. Reba and James then moved to California in 1959 where Reba gave birth to their youngest daughter Susan.

  Reba and James purchased a home in Bloomington, California where they lived and raised their family. Reba worked as a bank teller and later as a food service worker for the local elementary school in Bloomington.

  Reba and James loved to go square dancing together. They often traveled the state with friends and stayed at campgrounds while square dancing at local venues. Reba and James loved traveling and camping with their children and grandchildren.

  After James’ passing in 1993 Reba continued living at their home in Bloomington however, never remarried. Reba later moved to Victorville, California where she became very involved in her community social club. Reba planned many events and gatherings for her social club and was a pillar in her community. Reba later moved with Susan to their home in Emmett, Idaho.

  Reba was known for her bright and energetic personality, and sometimes pink hair. Reba was very active throughout her life and loved to go on evening walks with friends and family. Reba will be missed by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 8, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Victor Villa Club House, Victorville, CA.
