Raymond P Saranto (US Army MSGT Ret) 88 of Emmett ID passed away on April 14, 2026. Born May 23, 1937 to Johnny Emerson Saranto and Margret Fine in Walla Walla Wa.
Ray graduated high school in Byrn Athen PA in 1956. In 1957 he joined the US Army in the Military Police. He meets and marries the love of his life while being stationed in Garmish Germany. In 1964 and again in late 1969 he was assigned duties in the Republic of South Vietnam. He retired from the Army in 1977. He then worked for the state of Washington as a Veterans job counselor, assisting veterans finding employment and other services. He retired from Washington State in 1997. After retiring he and his darling bride traveled the USA in a 5th wheel before settling down in Idaho near family. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening or traveling around back roads to take in nature's beauty. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the 40et/8.
He was preceded in death by his youngest son Allen Richard (Rick) Saranto.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, lrmi, children Raymond Saranto Jr. (Kay) and Debbie Cleaver, grandchildren Jesse Wollam, Nicole Williams (Austin), Cody Saranto, Kristina Cleaver and Wyatt Clark. Great granddaughter Olivia Jean Cleaver.
