Raymond E. Flowers was a lifelong resident of Emmett, Idaho. He passed away peacefully at age 91 on September 2, 2025.
Raymond was born to Lawrence and Violet flowers in Hershey, Nebraska and moved to Emmett at the age of one. He grew up along with his eleven brothers and sisters in Emmett.
At age eighteen, he joined the Navy in 1952 and was stationed in Guam for 18 months, then was on the USS Dixie as a cook. He was then transported onto the USS Buck (Tin Can) back to San Diego until he retired in 1956. At that time, he moved back to Emmett and worked for Boise Cascade Mill for 41years as a millwright and retired in 1996.
Ray was married to Audrey Corbin and had three children, Debbie Flowers, Karen Hall (Clif) and Tony Flowers. They divorced after 20 years of marriage.
Ray then married Carol Saxton and had four stepchildren, John, Bill, Ronnie and Pam. After 17 years they divorced.
Ray then married Sandra Langford and had 2 more stepchildren, Jim and Steven. He had twelve grandkids and nineteen great grandkids.
After 20 years living on the farm on Sales Yard Road, Ray sold and moved to town, where he lives today.
Ray loved to fish, travel and especially be with family and friends. He always had time to help, repair and give advice to all that wanted his help.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Following the services there will be a Celebration of Life at Idaho Pizza in Emmett from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.
