Quinn Nuffer, age 55, of Fallon, Nevada was taken from this world far too soon on February 27th. Quinn was born in 1964 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Jack and Phyllis Nuffer.
Quinn graduated from Declo High School in 1982. After high school, Quinn was called to serve his mission in South Korea for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Upon returning, he attended Ricks College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Beef Production Management. Quinn married Robin MacGregor, who he had three beautiful daughters with. Katy, Quincee and Challis spent their early years with Quinn in Emmett, Idaho.
He worked for the Gem County Noxious Weed Abatement and later became the manager for the Gem County Mosquito Abatement. In 2004, Quinn took a job with Churchill County as Assistant Manager for Mosquito, Vector and Noxious Weed Abatement and became a valued member of the Fallon, Nevada Community.
If Quinn could not spend time with his daughters, he was doing something outside. Quinn enjoyed being a cowboy, a great fisherman, and an incredible hunter. Quinn loved guns and gunsmithing, so much so that he graduated from the Lassen Community College with a certificate in gunsmithing. Quinn was also an avid reloader and spent much of his time at the reloading bench.
He had a love for animal husbandry and was an accomplished farrier and horse trainer. Those that had the pleasure to watch Quinn on horseback would often see a large hat and an even bigger loop in his rope. Quinn is often remembered for his abilities with a rope and was treasured at any branding he attended. Quinn would also do anything he could to help sick or injured animals and was very close to achieving his certification to become a practitioner of the Masterson Method. At home, Quinn loved to cook and would often share recipes and methods with his daughters.
Above all else, Quinn was the best father that his daughters could ever ask for. Quinn will be missed by all that loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Nuffer. Survivors include his three daughters, Katy Nicholson, Quincee Nuffer and Challis Nuffer; his mother, Phyllis and four brothers, Rob Nuffer, Blake Nuffer, T J Soderman and Tod Nuffer.
