Paul Rice Obituary

Paul Vincent Rice of Emmett, ID passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 24, 2024, at the age of 71.
Paul was born in 1953 to William E. and Betty J. Rice in Richmond, CA.
Paul grew up with his parents and brother Billy in the rural town of Rio Linda, CA.  Paul attended Rio Linda High School, married his high school sweetheart and had two sons: Shane and Brandon.  Paul married 4 times during his life and was divorced at the time of his death.
He worked in the residential construction industry his entire life and moved to Emmett, ID in 1994 to build his home.  It was in Emmett that Paul married Roberta Rice and raised stepsons Robbie and Casey.
He and Billy started Rice Brothers Construction and continued to build in Emmett for the next 30 years.  Paul loved helping people and giving big hugs.  He especially loved his family and many close friends.  He talked to them on the phone for hours at a time.  He also loved his SUNTAN, tattoos, fast cars, motorcycles, boats and going to the drag races and the movies.  He enjoyed working on his sons' motor and house projects. Paul was a fixture at Banducci's coffee shop for many years where everyone knew his big booming voice and enjoyed his larger-than-life character.  No one was a stranger to Paul.  He will be remembered and missed by all of us.
Paul was preceded in death by both of his parents.  He is survived by his brother Billy (Linda) Rice; sons, Shane (Melisa) Rice and Brandon (DeAnna) Rice; grandsons, Erik and Deklen; granddaughter, Dahlia; niece Shannon (Addy and Steven); nephew, Kenny (Effie, Kenny and Michaela) and continued to be very close with his former stepsons; Robbie (Michelle), Casey (Michelle); grandchildren Austin, Benny, Elliot, Owen, Corbin, Liz, Gabby, Odin Paul and soon to be baby Bronson
A Memorial for Paul will be held by the family next spring.  We will notify his friends and family of the date and location when it is decided.
