Pattie Barron Obituary

Pattie Alice Barron, 86, of Emmett, Idaho, died at home from congestive heart failure on Sunday, March 17, 2024.  She was surrounded by family members who loved her very much.  A memorial service to honor her life is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmett Church of Christ, corner of 6th and Hayes.
Pattie was born on November 9, 1937, in Pine Grove, West Virginia, to the late Thomas and Matilda Mabell Carvoo. She grew up in Jacksonburg, West Virginia.  She was known for her love of God and His holy word which she read regularly; her undying devotion to her late husband Roger, whom she cherished and missed greatly after his passing; her unwavering love and care for her family; her love of babies and children; her wonderful sense of humor, playing tricks or teasing; being of service to others, especially cooking and baking for her family and for others; and her admiration and gratefulness for our military veterans.  She treasured her friends near and far. Her home is filled with pictures of family and friends from all through the years.
She loved Idaho and living in Emmett, seeing the Butte, especially when covered with snow, the beautiful Idaho sunsets, and traveling to the nearby mountains with her late husband.  Pattie was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and it wasn’t unusual to hear her screaming when they made a great play.  When Roger passed away, she continued to provide devoted care for his beloved sled dogs that he rescued from animal shelters, and she continued his tradition of taking them to elementary school classes to teach children about them.  She had a passion for growing and eating fresh vegetables, especially enjoying the Roma tomatoes from her garden. She loved flowers and would plant them every year in the special garden she dedicated to Roger.  She loved seeing wild birds and fed them year-round and could tell you the name of each kind. She enjoyed listening to classic country music. Pattie liked to embroider, crochet, and sew.  She had a special fondness for shopping, frequently browsing without making purchases, but often selecting thoughtful gifts for others.
Pattie was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert C. Hoover Sr.; her second husband, Roger S. Barron; all her siblings: sisters, Lena Mae Nunez, Virginia (Becky) Ash, Maxine Arnett; brothers, James Floyd Carvoo, Lewis (Jack) Carvoo, and Thomas Junior Carvoo; and her oldest son Herbert C. Hoover Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, five sons, and two dogs Skyla and Benji.  She was a dedicated and faithful wife to the love of her life, Roger Simon Barron.  She was a role model of a Christian mother who served God and always put her family first and prayed for them daily. She leaves many cherished memories to her children: Mitchell Roy Barron (Kristen) of Richland, WA; Russell Simon Barron (Michelle) of Emmett, ID; Robert Steven Barron of Emmett, ID; Rogenia Wynn of Indianapolis, IN; Rena R. Barron of Jefferson City, MO; Reil Roger Barron (Jackie) of Castle Rock, CO; and Roanen Tom W. Barron of Springfield, MO. She was fondly known as "Granny" to her 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as to many others who adopted her as their Granny. She will be greatly and tearfully missed!
Pattie’s family would like to thank Dr. Petrie and Nurse Lori for providing such good care for her over the past several years; her friend Mindy for making her beautiful hair look its best
every Friday; the hospice nurses who were so helpful; and her Christian family in Emmett for their everlasting friendship, love, and support.
