Pamela York Obituary

Pamela York passed to her rest May 15, 2024, in Emmett, ID.
Pam was born December 15, 1944, in Wendell, Idaho. Her childhood was spent in Jarbidge, Jordan Valley, Caldwell and then Emmett, where she graduated high school in 1963.
After high school, she completed studies at Links School of Business in Boise, worked a short time in downtown Boise, then spent several years working as bookkeeper and front desk clerk at Shore Lodge in McCall. It was there she met Donald York, and they married in 1968.
After her marriage to Don, she dedicated her life to being a wife and homemaker and a mother, once their daughter was born.
She was devout in her Seventh-day Adventist faith and was very involved in the church in Emmett for the better part of 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don; sister, Georgia McMillin; daughter, Donna and son-in-law John VanOrder; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Michaela and Wesley Moore and Sarah-Anne; and one newly arrived great-grandchild, Abigail Dawn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee and Fannie May Pursley; a sister, Linda Ford and a brother, Dan Pursley.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Apple Valley Residence for their care over the last year and to Canyon Hospice for their added care these last few months.
If anyone wishes, they may give memorial gifts to International Children's Care at forhiskids.org.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Emmett Cemetery, Emmett, ID.
