Olive May Horn, 100 years young, passed away January 2, 2026 in Emmett, Idaho. She was born as the 5th of 7 children on November 26, 1925 in Boise, Idaho to Edward and Clarabelle (Smith) Rodgers.
The family moved to Emmett shortly after Olive was born. She started school at the Hanna School and later attended the Vanderdassen School.
Olvie married Paul Horn in 1951 at Emmett. She worked in fruit packing, and they lived on a dairy farm and helped Paul with milking and farming. Paul died in 1995. She never remarried.
Olive loved life and the things that brought her joy, namely her nieces and nephews, beautiful landscapes, flowers and just simple interactions with others.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; siblings, Zerabel Thompson, Edward "Johnny", Alma Sager, Elmer "Bink", Laurel "Tootsie" Cutbirth. She is survived by her brother, Lee "Bub", as well as many of her nieces and nephews.
Olive lived at Apple Valley Assisted Living in Emmett, Idaho for many years and the staff there became her second family. We would like to extend our gratitude for the loving care you showed her while she was with you.
Olive will be laid to rest with Paul at the Emmett Cemetery with graveside services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Services are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
