Norman Junghans, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2025. He was 67 years old.
Born on September 23, 1958, in Canada to Charlotte and Frederick Junghans, Norman moved to the United States at the age of five. He spent most of his life in Whittier, California, where he built a life rooted in family, creativity, and quiet strength. In 2008, he and his wife relocated to Idaho, embracing a slower pace and the beauty of the countryside.
Norman met the love of his life, Darlene, on New Year’s Eve in 1981. They were married on May 15, 1982, beginning a partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and shared dreams.
He worked as a tow truck driver for many years, a job that reflected his reliability and calm under pressure. Eventually, he and Darlene purchased a flower shop in La Habra, where Norman’s creative spirit flourished. After moving to Emmett, he drove a school bus—a role he loved for the connection it gave him to the community and the rhythm of the road.
Norman was known for his gentle humor, steadfast spirit, and deep love for music—especially Tom Petty. He found joy in the surf, in creating, and in the companionship of his beloved dogs. Though illness limited his physical activity in later years, he found comfort in the simple pleasures of daily life and the unwavering bond he shared with Darlene.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Junghans and his brother, Roland Junghans. He was preceded in death by his sister, Heidi; his mother, Charlotte; and his father, Frederick. He is remembered with love by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho.
