Nicholas Scott Fugleberg passed away suddenly and far too soon at the age of 37 on November 7, 2025. Nick was born to Duane W. Fugleberg Jr. and Jana J. Hudson Fugleberg July 7, 1988 in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the second of six children, a gentle giant; the life of the party. Nick was the kindest, funniest, most loving human you’ve ever met. Our hearts are not just broken, they are shattered.
Nicholas lived in Utah and Washington before the family settled in Idaho Falls, ID when he was three and a half. Nick attended Linden Park Elementary, Clair E. Gale Junior High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Nick went to school at BYU-Idaho before serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lansing, MI. Upon returning home, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration at BYUI in 2017.
In 2014, Nick visited his brother Jason in Emmett, ID. While there, family set him up with who they thought would be the perfect puzzle piece for him. The rest was history, Nick never returned back home, living with his brother while courting the love of his life, Janeen L. Jensen. They were married on June, 14, 2014 in the Boise, ID temple for time and all eternity. There have never been greater soulmates. In August, 2017 Nick reached his greatest goal of becoming a father when Leslie Vaughn was born. His joy was multiplied again in May, 2022 when Rhett James joined the family. Nick spent every possible moment he could playing with and teaching his children. They loved going to the farmers market, the library, going fishing, and playing sports together.
Nick was an avid reader. He read hundreds of books each year and was a walking encyclopedia. He loved playing video games with friends and family. He played Dungeons and Dragons every week with his group of friends. Nick was the best at pulling pranks and had his black belt in teasing and joking. We will miss his sense of humor, warm hugs, and rich laughter.
Nick is survived by his beautiful wife, Janeen; sons, Leslie Vaughn (age 8), and Rhett James (age 3); parents, Duane and Jana; brother, Jason (Ashley) Fugleberg; sister, Brooke (Chase) Ackerman; sister Abrielle (Staline) Fugleberg, and brother, Carson (Camryn) Fugleberg, and grandparents Leslie Glenn and Linda Alice Hudson, Keith Clark and Rhea DePriest, as well as nieces and nephews Jensen, Zoey, Hudson, Eliason, and Anderson Fugleberg; Kendall, Reese, Beckett, Everett, and Wren Ackerman; Marley and Holland Correia Ferreira.
He is also survived by his wonderful father and mother-in-law Vaughn and Lisa Jensen; brother-in-law, Stuart (Heather) Jensen; sister-in-law, Jacqueline (Tyler) Ballard; sister-in-law Jannelle (Cody) Howerton, and sister-in-law, Jasmine (Brandon) Wilcox, as well as nieces and nephews Cianna, McKay, Mara, Hyrum, Jessa, Emma, and Hans Jensen; Wenona and Theodore Ballard; Asher, Iris, Orion, and Atlas Howerton; and Tristan and Benjamin Wilcox.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his sister, Hailey Fugleberg. Imagine the big bear hug Hailey just received.
