Nathan King Obituary

Nathan G. King of Emmett, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from Covid-19, surrounded by those that loved him. Nathan was born in Emmett, Idaho, on December 19, 1964 to Vernon and Dorothy (Flower) King.

Nathan came along at a time when his big sister was 19 and he soon discovered that he would have his parents all to himself. He was loved deeply by his parents and they spent many years helping Nathan fulfill his sports and bowling aspirations. Nathan went to school in Emmett and Greenleaf. He graduated from Greenleaf Academy. He loved to play football and was quite good at it. He also loved to bowl and was very good at that as well. Almost every weekend, Nathan could be found in a bowling alley across the Treasure Valley participating in a tournament.

Nathan held various jobs in his life, but his favorite was working for the Gem County Sheriff’s office in Emmett. He felt that he had found his ‘place’ and enjoyed what he did and who he worked with. Unfortunately, after a work-related injury, Nathan had to retire from that line of work.

Nathan was a fun-loving uncle and friend. He was like a big brother to so many in his life. He would take his nieces and friends to BSU football and basketball games and after, as a treat, go to Pojos and play nickel video games. He cared deeply and made everyone feel included and loved.

Nathan cherished his relationships with others and was the type of person that would sacrifice for others. He knew no strangers. He was kind, generous, funny, loving, and humble. He held a special place in his heart for his parents, his sister, his daughter Naomi, and especially for Tammy Hill.

Nathan and Tammy were reunited, after having known each other in their school years, almost 11 years ago. Cupid stepped in and it was a match made in heaven! Nathan and Tammy enjoyed their lives together and Tammy even supported Nathan’s love for the New Orleans Saints. They loved to travel together, spend time with family, and just enjoy each other’s company.

Nathan will be deeply missed. He was taken too soon by something out of everyone’s control. We find comfort and peace in knowing that he was reunited with his parents and sister and that we will see him again.

Nathan was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Dorothy (Flower) King, his sister Donna (King) Coburn and many other wonderful relatives. Nathan is survived by the love of his life, Tammy Hill, his daughter Naomi Skie, his nephew Mark Coburn II (Staci) of The Dalles, Oregon, nieces Shelley Ward, Stephanie Caruso, Mindy Coburn, and Shawna Bell (Terry) of Boise, Idaho, ten great-nephews, three great-great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Potter Funeral Home to help cover his final expenses.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00am at the Emmett Cemetery 1205 N. Washington, Emmett, ID 83617.
