With hearts full of sorrow but gratitude for her life, we announce that Melissa Ann “Missy” McCall, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, passed away on September 26, 2025, after a brave and grace-filled battle with an aggressive brain cancer. She was 55 years old.
A lifelong resident of Emmett, Idaho, Melissa was deeply rooted in her faith and her family. Her presence was strong, steady, and dependable — the kind of love that wrapped you up and held you close, especially in life’s hardest moments.
From early on, Melissa dreamed of becoming a mother, a teacher, and a nurse. In God's beautiful design, she became all three through her life’s most sacred calling: staying home to raise and home school her children. Her days were spent pouring her heart into her family — teaching with patience, tending to their needs with care, and loving with a devotion that never wavered.
Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bonnie and Ralph Jenkins, and now rejoices with them in Heaven.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and fierce devotion in her surviving family, her husband, Jim McCall, who stood by her until the end; her three children, Lindsay Buck, Kelsie Shields, and DJ McCall, each a reflection of her strength and heart; and her siblings, Tina Crosby and Chad Jenkins, and Kobi Jenkins with whom she shared deep family ties.
Among her children, Kelsie was not only her daughter but also her best friend — a constant companion, confidante, and source of deep mutual love and understanding. Their bond was unshakable and will remain unbroken by time or distance.
The greatest joy of Melissa’s life came in the form of her grandchildren, Tiana, Titus, Tillie, Stetson, Rhett, Elsie, and Kason. She absolutely loved being called "Grandma," and lived for every moment with them — cheering them on, holding them close, and being their constant source of love and support. She would have moved heaven and earth to be by their side, and they knew it.
Melissa was fiercely devoted to her family. When someone needed her, she showed up — no questions asked. Whether in the middle of the night, in the middle of a crisis, or in the everyday moments that mattered most, she was always there. Her strength was a foundation for her loved ones, and her loyalty was unwavering. Her absence leaves a deep and aching hole in the hearts of those who loved her — one that only her presence, her voice, and her fierce love could fill.
Even in the darkest days of her illness, Melissa held fast to her faith and trusted in God's plan. She fought with grace, courage, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone around her.
As we grieve, we also give thanks — for her life, for her love, and for the gift of knowing her. Hers was a life well lived, a race faithfully run, and a soul now resting in the eternal arms of Jesus.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
