Lucy Rogers, 94, of Emmett, Idaho passed away at home on January 1, 2024. Lucy was born in Espanola, New Mexico on August 9,1929, to John and Mary Wolfe. She was the youngest of their 4 children. She spent her early years in New Mexico and Arizona and moved to California in the early '40's.
She completed her education in Placerville, California. Graduating from El Dorado High School in 1947. In July of that year, she married Terrel Rogers. Together they raised their five children in El Dorado County. She was always very active in the schools that her children attended, as room mother and being part pf the PTA. She was a den mother when her sons were in Scouts.
In early years she worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area, before joining the Diamond Springs Post Office, which she eventually retired from. After retirement Lucy and Terrel traveled around the states and made many trips to Alaska to visit family. They moved to Idaho in the 90's. Lucy and Terrel enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his death in 2007. Lucy always made time for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Wolfe; husband, Terrel; son, Richard; granddaughter, Judy Sanders; her sisters, Maryneal Neely and Leona Cheever; and her brother, John Wolfe.
She is survived by her children Cheryl, Barbara, Robert and Timothy, as well as 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Emmett Cemetery on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
