Luceal Jean (Curtis) Anderson, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2024 in Emmett, Idaho, surrounded by family.
Born on August 14, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Luceal is the daughter of Luceal Rockwood and Elbert Raine Curtis. Luceal dedicated her life to her family and church, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Luceal was married to her best friend, Alan “Kay” Anderson, on June 28, 1955 and was sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City temple. Luceal supported Kay in his work, and together, they lived in Hawaii, Littleton, Colorado, Washington D.C., New York, Salt Lake City, and Nampa, Idaho. She was a wife, homemaker, and mother, which she cherished. Together, they were blessed to raise 3 children: Douglas Kay, David Curtis, and Peggy Luceal.
While Luceal was a fun, beautiful, and petite woman throughout her life, she was also strong, determined, and feisty. She epitomized the words found in Alma 37:6 which reads, “...by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.”
Her children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren (plus 3 more coming) are counted as her greatest blessings.
She is survived by her sons, Doug (Kitty Sue) Anderson, David (Shannon) Anderson, and her daughter, Peggy (Brett) Nelson. Luceal was preceded in death by her husband, Kay, her siblings, Bruce and Kathryn, and her parents, Luceal and Elbert Curtis.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm MST, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1001 E. 2nd Street, Emmett, Idaho. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Kay, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Services are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
Luceal will forever remain in our hearts, her legacy of love and kindness continuing to inspire us all. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband in eternal joy.
