Obituary

Louise Warren, age 99, went home to be with her Lord on September 16, 2026.
Louise was born on July 1, 1927, in Baker County, Georgia, to Bill and Harriet Grimes. She was one of six children and grew up during difficult times. With only an eighth-grade education, she worked hard from a young age, helping support her family by picking cotton and shucking peanuts. Those early years helped shape the strong, hardworking woman she would become.
In 1944, she met Eugene "Gene" Warren, while he was stationed at Bainbridge Air Force Base in Georgia. They married that same year and began a journey together that would span 55 years.    After moving to South Schroon, New York, they welcomed their first child, Howard, in 1945. Thirteen years later, they were blessed with three more children: Debbie, Bonnie, and Wyatt.
Louise's life was centered on her faith, her family, and caring for others. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome. She was known for her beautiful gardens and incredible green thumb. If it could grow, Louise could grow it. Whether she was planting vegetables, tending flowers, sewing, quilting, or preparing a meal for someone in need, she poured her love into everything she did.
More than anything, Louise was a caregiver. Many friends were blessed by her willingness to sit at a bedside during their final days, praying with them, comforting them, and making sure they were not alone. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering, and she lived that faith every day through acts of kindness, service, and compassion.
The family moved to Emmett in 1966, where Louise quickly found a church home, made lifelong friends, and faithfully taught Sunday School for many years. In 1973, the family returned to South Schroon, where she continued growing her large gardens and hosting Bible studies with friends. She also loved cheering on Debbie and Bonnie at their sporting events. In fact, it wasn't uncommon to hear Louise loudly expressing her opinion when a referee made what she considered a "bad call."
In 1979, the family returned to Emmett for good. Louise continued doing what she loved most: gardening, quilting, sewing, attending church, studying God's Word, and caring for those around her.
After Gene's passing in 2000, Louise's strength and independence remained evident to everyone who knew her. She continued maintaining her home and yard by herself until moving into an apartment behind Bonnie and Mark's home in 2007.
Following a broken hip in 2013, Louise moved to Rivers Edge, where she spent many years. The staff and residents quickly learned what her family had known all along: Louise was a special lady. She could be a little feisty at times, but her determination and loving heart made her dearly loved by everyone around her.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Warren; her parents and her five siblings.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply: her children, Howard (Ann) Warren of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Debbie (Jeff) Jenks of Paradox, New York; Bonnie (Mark) Davis of Emmett; and Wyatt (Heidi) Warren of Boise.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Katie Jenks, Jeremiah Warren, Shawn Davis, Ginny Britt, Stephanie Cascio, Autumn Warren, and Hailey Warren; and her eight great-grandchildren: Nathan and Addy Warren, Zane and Asher Davis, Gavin Kelley, Neo Cascio, and Jude and Stella Britt.
Louise's life was a beautiful example of faith, perseverance, service, and unconditional love. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Gene, her family and friends and resting in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the faith she passed on to future generations.
