Lorene Izatt Spencer of Emmett, Idaho, passed away at her daughter’s home in Boise, Idaho, July 28, 2025 at the age of 70 from complications with pancreatic cancer. She was born June 3, 1955 to Veldon and Veloy Izatt in Afton, Wyoming. She married Steve Spencer August 20, 1976 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
We remember Lorene deeply as we look upon the well-cared-for flower and herb garden she leaves behind. She was self-taught in many handicrafts including sewing, knitting and tole painting. Her angelic alto voice contributed to solo and group performances in many settings over the years. She served with loyal devotion in numerous service callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She dedicated her life to her family as a stay-at-home wife, mom and grandma; and we will remember her sacrifice for the rest of our lives.
She is survived by Steve; son Ryan (Kati); daughters, Brooke (Tyler) Green and Megan (Spencer) Pond; ten grandchildren; her mother, Veloy Izatt; brothers, Jed and Dale Izatt; and sisters, Dena Luthi and Lisa Chapparo. She was preceded in death by her father, Veldon, and grandson, Keelan Pond.
There will be a viewing Friday August 8, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. The funeral will be Saturday August 9, 2025 at the Emmett Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints downtown building, 1001 E. 2nd Street at 11:00 AM preceded by a viewing from 9:00 - 10:45 AM. Interment will be at the Freedom, Idaho cemetery in Star Valley Wyoming Monday August 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a gift to the Humanitarian Services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at https://philanthropies.churchofjesuschrist.org/in-memoriam/.
