Larry Leon Heavrin peacefully passed from this life into the loving arms of our Lord and Savor early Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the age of 85. Larry was born on October 18, 1938, in Emmett, Idaho, to Frank and Ester Pratt Heavrin. His siblings include Mary Lee Biggers (deceased), Harry Don Heavrin, Audrey Hall, Bonnie DeChenne, and Willma (Billie) Coelho.
Larry married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Horting, in 1958. Together, they welcomed five children: James, Jeanne, John, Julie, and Judy. Their love has also been extended by adding 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Professionally, Larry was a rancher who managed cattle operations in Idaho and Montana. Throughout his life, Larry was known for his generosity, warm heart, and ability to make everyone feel welcome with his warm smile and big, warm handshake. He loved spending time with family and friends and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership callings. He loved the outdoors, loved his horses, and always enjoyed riding to go fishing and hunting with his sons and friends. After he retired, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his shop.
A celebration of Larry Heavrin's life will start with a viewing at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (980 West Central Road, Emmett, ID 83617) on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Viewing will be from 2:00-2:50 PM. Burial will follow at the Sweet-Montour Cemetery (6391 Sweet Ola Highway, Sweet, ID 83670).
Larry Heavrin's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The family also wants to express their deepest thanks for all the care and love given to Larry by friends, church members, and caregivers at The Cottages in Emmett.
