On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the world lost a loved father, partner, brother, and friend. Larry George Flynn, age 79, passed away peacefully in Emmett, Idaho, leaving behind a legacy defined by loyalty, hard work, and a deep love for the land he called home.
Born March 24, 1946, in Boise, Idaho, to George and Anna Flynn, Larry grew up with a rancher's grit and the heart of a true outdoorsman. Those who knew him best will remember his quiet strength, his steady presence, and the joy he found in the mountains. Larry was never happier than when he was packing mules into the wilderness with friends who trusted him completely-because everyone knew that if Larry was leading the way, you were in good hands. His understanding of the backcountry was unmatched, and his love of hunting was as much about the friendship and shared stories as the adventure itself.
Larry cherished his 160-acre ranch, a place that reflected everything he valued in life. There he raised cattle, worked the land, and found peace in the daily rhythm of ranching. For more than 45 years, he built a respected career in the roofing industry and later became a well-known businessman who developed land in Eagle. Whether on a rooftop, a ridgeline, or horseback across his open fields, Larry put his whole heart into everything he did.
And then there was Daisy, his loyal dog, constant companion, and truly his best friend. Their bond was remarkable. Wherever Larry went, Daisy followed, a quiet and steady reminder of the love and loyalty that filled his life.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, George; his mother, Anna; his son, Todd; and his brother, Lonnie. He is survived by his longtime partner, Connie Peterson, and her granddaughters, Nola and Anna; his children, Brian (Yuris) and Eric (Whitney); his grandchildren, Gavin and Sophie; his brother, Leonard (Dudy); his sisters, Margie and Carol (Tim); along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will carry his memory forward with affection and pride.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, when family and friends will gather to honor a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived his life on his own terms.
Rest easy, Larry. You were well loved, and you will be deeply missed.
