Keith George Markham passed away on June 19, 2023, at the home of his son, Stephen, in Raleigh, North Carolina where he had lived for almost 8 years. He was born November 22, 1926, in Ontario, Oregon to George and Anna (Anderson) Markham.
Keith served in the East Central States mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On August 29, 1952, he married Lela Hartley in the Idaho Falls Temple. After graduating from BYU with a B.S. degree in physics, Keith worked at Edwards Air Force Base in California for 31 years testing aircraft. He also acquired a master’s degree in system management. Keith and Lela raised seven children in Lancaster, California.
After retirement, they moved to New Plymouth, Idaho for about 15 years during which time Keith and Lela served in the LDS Texas, Fort Worth Mission. Later they moved to West Jordan, Utah for about 17 years. He served faithfully in many Church positions. Keith loved his family, his Savior, the Church, camping, visiting historic or other interesting sites, and clean jokes. He was interested in innovation and technology.
Keith is predeceased by his wife, Lela; his parents; sister, Beth Richmond; and brother, Don. He is survived by his brother, Wayne; his sister, Elza Marshall; children; Diane (Greg) Humann, Marilyn, Nancy (Lynn) Sessions, Stephen (Allyson), Glen (Stephanie), Alan (Anna), and Carol (Todd) Anderson; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren with more on the way.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd., Taylorsville, Utah with a viewing from 1-1:45pm. A graveside service will be at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, 10350 Iowa Ave, Payette, Idaho, Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Online condolences: mcdougalfuneralhomes.com.
