June Johnson Obituary

Kathern June (Sisler) Johnson (formerly of Emmett), passed away at the Parma Living Center in Parma, Idaho on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 (at 98 years old). She was born in Emmett on October 3, 1923 to John Howard Sisler and Margaret Russell Sisler. She was 3rd of 9 children, grew up in the Emmett valley and graduated from Emmett High School.

During World War II, she worked as a welder in the Vancouver, Washington shipyard for two years. Returning home, she attended College of Idaho in Caldwell for 1 year. June was employed as a teacher in a one room schoolhouse at Deadwood Mine in Idaho, and while there, met a young Swede by the name of Carl Johnson. They married on November 5th, 1945 and settled in Emmett about a year later. They raised four children: Andy, Alan, Marilyn, and Dale.

The family attended the Emmett First Christian Church. June taught Sunday School, was an active 4-H leader, and ready to help in the PTA. She was a number one homemaker and always served up good food and happy times. She often said she was so blessed meeting Carl and she held her relationship with God at the center of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Andy and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Alan (Marilyn), Marilyn Maybon (Larry), Dale (Karen), six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Parma Living Center for the love and care they gave to June. Their generosity is very much appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. June's celebration of life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
