Joshua Vorse Obituary

Joshua Dean Vorse passed away peacefully at the age of 54, on September 21st, 2024. He was born the last of six siblings on December 5th, 1969, to Michael and Linda Vorse, in Lubbock, Texas. The family later moved to Idaho when he was a toddler where he spent the remainder of his life. Josh would tell you he had a fulfilled and happy childhood. He enjoyed playing outside like any young boy would. He also enjoyed getting to travel and see new places. But most of all, he loved going to visit family in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. At a young age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and stood firm in his faith.
Joshua attended Emmett High School where he proudly represented the Husky football team and went on to earn an All-State player award. Football was a way of life for Josh. Everyone that knew him would know how much he enjoyed watching his favorite sport. He watched all games, but his love for the Nebraska Cornhuskers was unwavering. He did love watching Boise State football as well, and even attended games from time to time. He rode out all the ups and downs for the Dallas Cowboys and remained devoted to his team.
After high school, Josh started working at Boise Cascade. Shortly after, he and Tracy welcomed their daughter, Ashley Nichole (33). They later welcomed their son, Michael Porfirio (28) and raised their children in Emmett. In the early 2000s, Josh enrolled in a trucking school in Oregon to receive his certification and eventually his CDL. Growing up he had a fondness for all different trucks and would name off the different models while on the road with his family. After completing school, he went on to work for Stein Distributing. While there he took on the bar routes because he was well known for being able to sling around all those kegs. He even earned his nickname and became known by everyone as "Big Sexy" and he soaked it up for everything it was worth. The last few years at Stein, he spent working in the warehouse.
Outside of watching football, Josh enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a huge history buff and loved watching documentaries about various wars. He loved firing up the grill to enjoy meals with his friends and family. Most of all he loved being in the company of both his children and grandsons.
Josh was most known for his boisterous laugh, which was contagious to anyone in the room. he was a loyal son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. His warmth in his big bear hugs will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Porfirio Correa; mother-in-law, Sherry Correa; best friends, Gregory Walker and Jose "Joe" Lopez. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Linda Vorse; children, Ashley and Michael Vorse; siblings, Debbie Emerson, Tracy Johnston, Chad Vorse, and Rachel St. Peter; grandsons, Matthew, Markus, and Xavier Perez; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
