Jerry Lynn Waters, 84, of Emmett, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2025. He was born on May 3, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lynn and Mildred Waters.
At the age of 9, Jerry and his family moved to Emmett, which became his lifelong home. On September 25, 1965, he married the love of his life, Donna, in Emmett. Together they built a life filled with hard work, family, and cherished memories.
Jerry was no stranger to a hard day’s work. Throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs including working at the Horseshoe Bend Sawmill, Emmett Cannery, and LA Russell’s Fruit Ranch. He also served as a security guard at the Idaho State School and Hospital, drove a bus for EOA, and worked on and off as a truck driver. No matter the job, Jerry gave his all with dedication and integrity.
Outside of work, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping, fishing, singing karaoke, and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His sense of humor was heard no matter where he was, he always had a joke to share and an interesting way of explaining things. His strong work ethic, and deep love for family will be remembered always.
Jerry is survived by his children, Mark Waters, Mike (Kim) Waters, Candice Waters, Christopher (Lacey) Waters, and Joey (Jamie) Waters; his siblings, Gloria Hill, Bev (Bob) Church, and Kevin Waters; six grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Donna, and two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho.
Jerry’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him.
