Obituary

Janet (Moffat) Mecham was born February 28, 1942 in Driggs, Idaho, to Joseph and Marie (Rainey) Moffat.  She was the second of five children.

In 1954, her family moved to Emmett to farm on the bench.  In the spring of 1958, she met the love of her life, DeLoy. They were married in February of 1959.
Janet and DeLoy built a wonderful life together and worked hard on the ranch, farming and milking cows.  They were both hardworking, and Janet could do it all, milk cows, run the swather, operate a tractor with disk or plow, level land, drive a corn truck, irrigate crops between milkings and help wherever was needed.  At the same time, she kept a loving and welcoming home.   The house was always clean, home-cooked meals were on the table, a large garden was tended, and we always had clean clothes ready to go for school.  Their home was filled with love and warmth. They truly were a team.
They were blessed with three children, David, Nadine and Cynthia, and their lives were full of family activities and cherished memories.  Janet dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and told them frequently how much she loved them.  She treasured her family and the life she and DeLoy had built together.
Janet leaves behind her children, David (Jennifer Cicrich) Mecham, Nadine (Rick) Welch, and Cynthia Mecham; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, with the eleventh arriving soon. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis Moffat and Paul (Barb) Moffat, and her brother-in-law, John Bartausky.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, DeLoy; sisters Joyce and Norine; and sister-in-law Dee.

Janet's life was defined by her love for family and the farm. She worked tirelessly beside DeLoy to build a home, a farm, and a legacy of hard work and devotion. Her greatest treasures were the generations of family she loved so deeply and who loved her in return.
