James Brinkerhoff Obituary

James Lue Brinkerhoff, age 76, died Friday, January 8, 2021 in Meridian, Idaho.  He was born September 17,1944 in Ogden, Utah to Lue Herrick and Donna Pledger Brinkerhoff.  James graduated Valley High in Orderville, Utah in 1963.  He served an LDS Mission in Calgary, Canada from 1964 to 1966.  He married Clara Mae Carroll on June 21, 1966, in the Salt Lake City Temple.

 James was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings involving leadership and youth. He loved them all.  James and Clara Mae served an LDS Trek mission at the Deseret Land and Livestock Ranch in Evanston, Wyoming from 2015 to 2016 making many lifelong friends.

 James was a wonderful man who served his family, church, and community.  He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His humor and life’s perspective will be missed by all who knew him. 

 The greatest joy in his life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Brinkerhoff; younger brother, Kent; sister, Merriann Tait;  children, Sherri (Clint) Romriell, Richard (Karen) Brinkerhoff, John (Diane) Brinkerhoff, Robert Brinkerhoff, Carol (Scott) Kaskel and Mary (Troy) Thompson; along with 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren

 He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rita Spencer and a brother, Steven Brinkerhoff.  

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center (980 W. Central Rd.) with a viewing before the service from 9:30 - 10:50 AM at the church.  Viewing will also be available the night prior on Friday,  January 15, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel.
