James (Jim) Derek Blanton (70) passed away peacefully on Saturday November 2, 2024, at a Weiser nursing home. He was born September 19,1954 in Caldwell, Idaho to William and Evonne Blanton.
He attended school in Emmett. Jim was a delightful character, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was always fun to be around. In 1976, he met Clyde Pevler, and they immediately became lifelong buddies. They were together so much. They walked, talked, looked and acted so much alike; you’d think they were brothers. For hours, they could recite comical poetry together; they were always the life of every party.
In 1986, Jim and Patty Faries lived in Massachusetts for 2 years and had 1 child: Jenifer Blanton. Throughout his life, Jim lived in many places, but his favorite place was Yellow Pine, Idaho where he spent his last 10 years. In a 1 room cabin, with his little dog Billy, he was always happy and content. He loved watching the deer and elk, or an occasional bear that hung out in his front yard. He liked to watch TV and read. He enjoyed visits from his good friends; Walter and Andy Pevler, Coleen terTelgte, Tina Waters, Fish John, Cecil, Ron, Jeff and Ann just to name a few.
James is preceded in death by his parents William and Evonne Blanton. He leaves behind his daughter Jenifer Blanton and an adopted daughter D. J. Martin both of Weiser Idaho; 3 stepchildren: Miki Christensen of Tacoma Washington, Rachel Kennedy and Becky Hatcher both of Ontario
Oregon; 3 Grandchildren: Keenan and Rayne Remington both of Tea, South Dakota, and Lavynder Kennedy of Ontario. He also leaves behind his best friend and constant companion, his little
dog Billy.
He was loved by many and will be missed by everybody who knew him. Jim’s final resting place will be in the mountains around Yellow Pine and beside his best friend, Clyde Pevler, at the Bramwell Cemetery in Emmett. Thank you, Potter Funeral Chapel, for everything.
