Jack R. Whitney, 89 of Emmett, Idaho passed away peacefully February 12, 2021 at a local care facility in Emmett. Jack was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Claude T. and Mildred L. Whitney.
October 8, 1950 Jack and Patricia Rolland were married in Emmett, Idaho. After they married
Jack and Pat moved their family to California where Jack went to Machinist School and became a Cabinet Maker. In 1958 Jack, Pat and son Rick moved back to Emmett, Idaho were Jack started his career with Boise Cascade as a shop car loader and was later a fuel man, fireman, machinist, and welder. After more than 35 years of service, Jack retired. Jack's wife, Pat and son, Rick also worked for the Idaho Region. Jack enjoyed several hobbies, including photography, rock hounding, fishing, and teasing all the ladies!
Jack is survived by his, daughter in-law Martha (Susie) Whitney of Emmett, Idaho, grandson
Richard A. (Miki) Whitney of Oxbow, Oregon, and granddaughter Jackie M. (Dan) Hills of Nampa, Idaho. Five great grandchildren: Kaila, Bailee, Rylee, Allison, and Shelby. He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Loren, wife Patricia, son Richard M. Whitney and great grandson Dylan Haigler.
There will be a viewing Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Potter Funeral Chapel with Graveside Services Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2 pm at Emmett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or donations the family requests give to Saint Jude's.
