JUDY VANOSDALL Obituary

Judy Linn Vanosdall, 62, of Emmett, Idaho passed away April 27, 2019 at Valor Hospital in Emmet, due to cardiac arrest.  Judy was born Sept 28, 1956. She was the fourth daughter born to William Lawrence Bethel and Yvonne Darline Bisher from Morrow, Oregon.

 Judy attended elementary and middle school in Boise near 9th street, close to where she grew up. She attended and graduated High School at Borah High, and went on to Boise State University. She wasn’t able to finishing with an Associates but loved learning. She then sought employment at BSU in the Idaho National Guard Unit, Administration Office. She also worked as a Transcriptionist at a Nursing Facility and as a waitress.

 Judy married Clifford Edward Vanosdall June 6, 1981 at her parents’ home on 9th St in Boise, ID.  They have a son she adored, John Ross Vanosdall. He married Wei-Jun Lin in Taiwan and blessed them with a precious grandson, Paul William Vanosdall, her little joy and love.  Judy also had 2 step-grandchildren, Mira and Mackenzie Morgan, who are a big part of their family.

 Judy worked for H&R Block for the past 30 yrs. She was a Master Tax Adviser and Enrolled Agent since 2014. She was licensed in Oregon as a Tax Consultant since 1994. Judy also taught courses in income tax preparation since 1997. She completed advanced courses on tax law and theory every year for her IRS Certificate, H&R Block and the state of Oregon. Judy also taught tax law and theory classes each year.

Healthcare expenses (e.g., medical, dental), Charitable giving, Loss from disaster or theft (e.g., flood, tornado), Retirement income, income from multiple States, Farming operations, Military, Clergy, Small Business, Sole Proprietor, or self-employed, Trust & Estates, Partnerships, Tax Audit & Notice Services, Tax Planning.

 Judy enjoyed meeting new people and being challenged by new situations. Every year she increased her knowledge in tax law and theory in order to better serve her client’s needs. When a client told her “thank you,” it really made her day.

 She enjoyed playing cards with her family especially pinochle, reading, dancing, comedies, and she was a good artist and loved showing her nieces how to draw. She loved scorpions and baby pigs. She loved going camping every summer with John and Clifford. She also loved serving as a Boy Scout Leader for 3 years.

 Judy loved her family and spending time with them. She also loved her co-workers at H&R Block where she spent so much of her time. She loved to shop, she loved Christmas time and she loved when Spring would finally warm the earth and the colors would beautify everything once again.

 Judy was very loving and generous to her nieces and children. She was a second mother and a wonderful Aunt to them. She filled in as Grandma to their children after her sister, Ivonna passed in 2013. Judy even took in her son’s friend Ricky Clark after a domestic situation. So, John and Ricky were raised as brothers.

 Judy is survived by her husband, Clifford Edward Vanosdall of Emmett; her son, John Ross Vanosdall and wife Wei-Jun LIn, and their son, (her only grandson) Paul William Vanosdall of Taiwan; step-brothers, Gary and Rick Morgan; step-grandchildren, Mira and Mackenzi Morgan; nephew, Richard Cody Dillard; nieces, Jeannette Shirvinski, Angelina Clark, Tamara Dillard (Fivecoat) and Francine Dillard; great nieces, Laura Devine, Morgan Cameron, Erin Shirvinski, Alan Dillard, Crystal Felts, Ivonna Morales, Michael Guillermo, Alisia Meza, Siara Dillard, Marissa and Joshua Patterson.

 Judy is predeceased by her siblings, Ivonna Marie Bethel Dillard, Billie Jean Bethel (in infancy in 1953), Phyllis Ann Bethel (in a car accident as a teenager in 1967); father, William Lawrence Bethel; mother, Yvonne Darline Bethel (Bisher); nieces, Sandra and Gwinith Dillard; great nephew, William Dillard and a great niece, Gwenndalynn.

 Services will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel (228 E Main St, Emmett, ID) on May 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM, the family will then proceed to the Emmett Cemetery to dedicate the Grave, 1205 N Washington Ave.

Pot Luck Dinner to follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints downtown location at 1001 E. 2nd St.
