Graveside service for Ila Harnar 75 of Emmett, passed away Wednesday January 27, 2021 at a local care center, will be held on Monday February 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Emmett Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Chapel.
Ila Jane Harnar born October 10, 1945, to Willy and Sarah Burr in Emmett, Idaho joined her loving grandparents and parents on January 27, 2021. Over the past 12-years, Ila fought a valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family.
Ila graduated from Emmett High School and attended Links Business School where she prepared for her career in accounting. Her education served her well throughout her life and provided many opportunities. Ila and Hermann Bell married in 1967 had their daughter, Trina and son, Jason. In 1983, Ila and Gary Harnar married blending their families together to include Gary’s children: Joe, Jackie and Jim.
Ila proudly worked as the Jordan Valley City Clerk in Oregon for 15-years and was a member of the Malheur County Women and Children’s Commission. Ila had a reputation for always being kind and offering a home cooked meal to all. While in Jordan Valley she volunteered with the Methodist Ladies, was a regular at community events and loved cheering at the ball games.
Ila and Gary returned to her beloved hometown of Emmett in 2000 where she worked at Valley Family Health for 10-years where she assisted the community. Ila made many friends as a member of Valley of Plenty Quilt Club and doing water aerobics.
Ila enjoyed Monday family dinners with her siblings: Orah Nau and De Burr, traveling, crafting and was always up for an adventure. Ila was rooted in tradition and loved our annual family camping trip. This year our family celebrated the twenty-second camp trip in Donnelly. She loved watching the kids swim, roasting marshmallows and sitting around the fire.
Ila leaves behind her loving husband Gary Harnar and children: Trina Allen (Rick), Jason Bell, Joe Harnar (Kathy), Jackie Millage (Mike) and Jim Harnar (Kellie). In addition, she remains in the hearts of her beloved grandchildren: Dustin Bowers, Jacob Allen, Trey Allen, Jordan Bell, Brooklynn Bell, Madison Bell, Mallory Green, Madelyn Harnar, Michael Hoadley, Samantha Hoadley, Stephanie Hoadley, Elijah Harnar and Eden Harnar.
