Glenda Strunk Obituary

Glenda Ann Strunk (Brott) was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, June 21, 1948, to Ray and Opal Brott.  She passed away at her home in Emmett, Idaho, on April 14th, 2024, with her husband, children and grandchildren by her side.
Glenda spent her early childhood in Twin Falls and then moved to Bruneau, Idaho where she attended junior high and high school.  She had three brothers, Homer, Donnell and Kenny, and two sisters, Charlotte and Linda.
Glenda married Douglas Strunk February 15th, 1975, and had three children, Megan, Rebecca, and Andy. They enjoyed spending time together, traveling to the Oregon Coast, manufactured housing conventions and promoting golf tournaments for the manufactured housing associations. They were big classic car fans and attended events all over the west. They founded the Emmett Valley Swap Meet with their good friend Ron Nachtigall and ran it for many years before passing it on to the Lyons Club. Doug and Glenda made many lifelong friends along the way.
Glenda loved to cook and feed people. She was in her element hosting luncheons and dinner parties and having all friends and family present.  She was always ready to prepare a meal or a tray of her famous brownies for anybody who was the least bit down. Glenda was a member of the First Baptist Church and fondly served as the Social Director, a role she enjoyed for many years.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Doug, of nearly fifty years; her children, Megan (Kenny) Keene, Rebecca (Eric) Flowers, and Andy (Casey) Strunk; her grandchildren, Laurel Keene, Spencer Keene (Jade), Amelia Keene, William Flowers, Lucas Chilibolost, Cody Scolet; great grandson, Cooper James Keene; and brother, Kenneth (Darla) Bott.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Homer and Donnell Stradley; her sisters, Charlotte Martell and Linda Medford.
Glenda loved her children and grandchildren first and foremost and she wanted them to remember that always.  They all loved her greatly and were able to show it by taking care of her until the end.
There were so many close friends and family that were there for Glenda at the end.  We just want to extend a special "Thanks" to Sue Tyrer, Nancy & Larry Roe, Sandy & Rod Jones, Doris Jewett, loving granddaughter, Laurel Keene, as well as many others.
Glenda’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church (126 S. Hayes, Emmett, Idaho) with a luncheon to follow.  Services are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
