Our much-loved Gerrie left the suffering of this world on April 14, 2023, Emmett, ID, to enter into her rest in Christ Jesus. She was born on November 14, 1932, in St. Ignatius, Montana, to Larry and Betty Gilbert and was the second of 4 children.
Gerrie had a deep love for horses her entire life. George and Gerrie were cattle and sheep ranchers for many years before retiring and taking to the road in their motorhome. They spent their golden years as camp hosts at various scenic parks and traveling…staying in touch with many they met through these adventures. The end of their traveling days brought them to Emmett, Idaho where they lived simply and quietly; enjoying the occasional drive to check on the farmlands and view the scenery. She shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Buffy. Gerrie also enjoyed sewing, crochet, and needlepoint, blessing many with her creations. She was surrounded by loving neighbors and dear friends to share life with.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Betty Gilbert; sister, Joy; brother, Wally and her beloved husband George Duppong.
Gerrie is survived by her brother, Bill; two children; Cheryl and Michael and two granddaughters; Jolene and Jamie. She also leaves many relatives of her late husband George, many friends made through the years, and some very special and lovingly devoted people who filled some significant voids in her life.
Much gratitude to Heart and Home Hospice nurses who went above and beyond to bless her, fulfill last wishes and keep her comfortable in her last days.
There will be a Memorial Graveside Service on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM to celebrate her life as she is placed next to her husband George at the Emmett Cemetery, Emmett, ID
