George Daniel McCall, 81, passed away on Nov. 5th, 2021 at St. Luke's in Meridian. George was born to Rosemary and Chet Etheredge in Kirkland, Washington on July 7th, 1940.
George was adopted by his grandparents, George and Frances McCall of New Plymouth. He grew up in New Plymouth hunting, fishing and working on the farm. After his junior year in high school he joined the US Navy, where he served as Torpedoman's mate. He achieved the ranking of Petty Officer 3rd Class E-4. He served active duty until 1961 and continued in the reserves until 1970.
George had a long career with Boise Cascade both on the mill side and the plywood plant where he retired from. He loved being outdoors, doing reloading, dabbled in making knives and over-building everything. He loved going on adventures with the love of his life. There were many trips to the Stanley area and he was always exploring this great state.
George is preceded in his passing by his wife, Joan; daughter, Tracy; a great-granddaughter, Aliyah and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Jim and Dan, both of Emmett; daughter-in-law, Ronnie (Kelly) Fisher of Emmett; son-in-law, Lorney; grandchildren, Lindsay Buck, Kelsie McCall, D.J. McCall, Joany Mitchell, Seth Ford and Shawn Ford all of Emmett; great grandkids, Tiana Buck, Titus Buck, Tillie Buck, Stetson McCall, Evee Mitchell, Germaine Fisher, Grace Fisher, Faith Fisher and one due in November, Rhett McCall.
Services will start at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church. A potluck will follow so please bring your favorite dish to share.
