Gary Alan Silveria passed away April 26, 2022, peacefully in Utah with his family by his side after a short battle with Alzheimer's.
Gary was born August 30, 1940, to Henry Silveria and Rose Machado in Gilroy Ca. He moved to Emmett in 1960 where he met Opal and they married in 1961. They had 3 children - Kevin Silveria (JoAnn), Shelly Thornock Will (Jim), and Missy Rekow (Darin).
He loved spending time with his family camping, boating golfing with his sons-in-law, and family trips to Disney. You could always find Gary & Opal at family events, from watching his son-in-law play baseball, to watching his grandchildren in a soccer game, drill competition or showing off their talents in a play.
Gary had a love for fast classic cars. You could find him on the weekends at Firebird racing his 1940s Little Willy's Quick with his son racing his 1974 Chevy Vega Trouble Maker. Gary raced at many racetracks from Firebird to Pomona. Through the years he owned many businesses; G&O Enterprise, 1/3 owner in TJ Tire, Country Corner, and his last love was Hot Wheel Heaven with a collection of over 10,000 little Hot Wheel Cars.
We want to give a special thanks to our sister Missy for the loving care she gave Dad & Mom in her home in their final years. We know our parents appreciated all the warmth and comfort you and Darin gave them.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Opal, parents Henry & Rose; sister Linda and grandson Nicholas Thornock. Survivors include son Kevin; daughters Shelly & Missy; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at the Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett, ID.
Interment will be private.
