Gary La Von Franklin departed from this world on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the age of 85.
Gary was born in Emmett, Idaho on May 1, 1939 to John and Velma Franklin. Gary graduated from Emmett High School in 1957, and married Irene Foruria in 1958. Gary proudly served in both the Army and the Navy. After being discharged from the Navy; Gary, Irene and their two daughters left California, and returned to Idaho. Gary then began working for Boise Cascade, and continued there until his retirement in 2001.
Gary’s passions in life were goose hunting, fishing, deer and elk hunting and of course, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gary is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Stocks and Wendy Gano; his two grandsons, Dane Hamilton and Clinton Leaf; and his great granddaughter, Ashlyn Hamilton.
Dad was extremely Patriotic, and loved this great country so very much. Dad was not perfect, but who in this world is? Who? Dad was however, perfectly himself.
